A bus whizzes through Umm el-Fahem. The GPS stumbles over pronunciation of the Arabic street names, while the camera shows only fences and walls. Fleeting views drawn in minute detail in blue on white (politically loaded colors of the Israeli flag) are interspersed in vistas in the gaps between houses, but they are gone almost before you can register them. 
I am a stranger in this city, trying to decipher it, trying to get to know it and its people, my neighbors.
